John has an MA in Applied Linguistics (Reading University, UK), is writer, a speech pathologist and has worked as a plain English advisor for a research and ethics department in Melbourne.

Jaki has worked as a writer for English television in Singapore for more than ten years and has written for many of Singapore’s magazines and newspapers. She teaches grammar and writing at the British Council and also works as a writer, researcher and editor for individuals, companies and organisations, including the National Library of Singapore.
